Attorney Profiles

Robert G. Whittel

Former Prosecutor Robert Whittel is an experienced trial lawyer. He attributes his success in the courtroom to his experiences outside the courtroom. As Robert always says, "being a trial lawyer requires an ability to be fearless in the face of difficult Judges and Prosecutors, it takes more than law school to be able to successfully fight for a client."

Former Prosecutor Robert Whittel was a Lt. Commander in the United States Navy and an honors graduate from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The tough discipline, hard work and attention to detail required as a merchant marine prepared Robert well for the demands of being a successful trial lawyer.

After serving several years aboard ships, Robert Whittel was admitted to the University of Florida Law School. Robert excelled in law school graduating with high honors and being named a member of the prestigious Florida Law Review. Based upon his success in law school, Robert Whittel was one of only two americans in his class to be invited and enrolled to study and receive an LLM degree in law from Cambridge University in England.

Before becoming a prosecutor and successfully serving as lead trial attorney on many criminal cases, Robert gained valuable experience defending large corporations in complex litigation and transactions. The experience has prepared him to handle all cases from complex Federal Criminal Cases to DUI and Drug Trafficking cases. Robert Whittel's success in defending his clients is well documented.

Robert Whittel is a member of the board of directors of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Florida Justice Association. He is also a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
